The year is 2023, and the travel club is off to Hawaii!  We have two new members this year, Kathleen and Mary Ellen; we are very excited that they will be joining. Sadly, Sandy is taking the year off, but hopefully she'll be back with us for future trips.

Planning for this exciting adventure started in October. We attempted to plan the same way we have done most of our other trips, by contacting several tour companies to have them prepare a suggested trip. We then compared the itineraries and made our selection. However, this was not to be for Hawaii.  A few of the tour agencies we spoke with asked for a retainer before they would even think about our trip. One travel agent  said that the cost of any trip to Hawaii would be over $10,000 per person, and that was before she started.  That was not going to work! Linda C. was able to find a tour agent that helped pull together hotels, rental cars, and air travel between the islands. The group is planning the daily itinerary.  

Our trip will begin on July 13th. The islands we will be visiting are O'ahu, Kauai and the  Island of Hawaii.  We are all looking forward to visiting Volcano National Park, Smith's Fern Grotto, Iolani Palace, and so much more.  Experiences we are planning include attending a luau, touring a coffee plantation and a pineapple plantation, and hopefully checking out black sand beaches.
