Planning for this trip began in September when we tossed around several countries before deciding on England. We proceeded in the usual way with each of us researching and listing what we wanted to see and do while in England. With the list compiled, Linda C. contacted Zicasso, and they found us Routescape, a wonderful travel agency in England, specializing in creating personalized experiences.  

We plan to spend some time in London, visiting the Tower of London, Westminster Abbey, Windsor Castle and the Harry Potter Studio. The tour also includes a ride on the Eye of London, a private walking tour, and a cruise on the River Thames. Of course, the trip would not be complete without us having a walking food tour of London.

Next, it's a train ride to the Lake District where we will check out Beatrix Potter’s farm, Hill Top, cruise on Windermere Lake, and take a stroll following Hadrian’s Wall all while viewing the area's beautiful scenery. Three days later it is back on the train to the Cotswolds. Our excursion to this area will include an afternoon English Tea and visiting the quaint villages of Broadway, Stratford-Upon-Avon, and Burton-on-the-Water.
 
After leaving the Cotswolds, we will spend some time in Bath, where we will have an opportunity to see where many of the Downton Abbey scenes were filmed, visit the Roman baths, and wander around the stones of Stonehenge. This trip will conclude with a relaxing and revitalizing bath at Thermae Baths Spa.

I am sad to say that Kathleen was not able to join us this year, but happy that Sandy is back for this great adventure. I will do my best to post each day as the trip unfolds.
