Today it was off to see Stonehenge. Dan was our personal guide again. He explained  all of the exhibits we were viewing  as we walked through the visitor center  learning about the history of  Stonehenge. From The Visitor Center we road the bus out to see the actual Stonehenge formation. Here again he was our guide as we walked around viewing the rock formation from all different perspectives. He explained how on the winter solstice the sun would shine through a V in the major rock formation back when Stonehenge was formed. Today one of the major Stones is gone. He pointed out mounds in the distant landscape around the stones that were used as burial tombs. I didn't take a picture as they blended in with the landscape and would be very  difficult to see. We all could have stayed much longer listening to Dan tell stories about Stonehenge, as he had been there he said I think it was over 400 times, but he had to get back because he had another client for the afternoon. He said Stonehenge is one of his favorite places to visit.

For lunch we decided to check out Pieminster which was a restaurant recommended to us by our travel agent. She did not steer us wrong. Everyone had a British savory pie filled with something different. They were all very good and everyone enjoyed their lunch. With nothing scheduled for the afternoon, some of us decided to check out the stores in the area. Others went for a long walk. We were all looking forward to our spa day the next day.​
