It is hard to believe that a year has gone by and the Summer Travelers are off on a new adventure. There will be six of us this year: Victoria, Linda C., Linda K., Evie, Toby (my mom) and myself. This trip is dedicated to Lee Bank who was to have accompanied us but passed away unexpectedly this year while planning this trip.
Europe was the choice for exploring this year. Many of us have never been to Amsterdam so this was at the top of our list. It was also suggested to go on a river cruise. We were able to combine these two ideas with Gate 1 Travel’s 11 Day Rhine River Cruise with Amsterdam. Beginning July 11, the first three days will be spent exploring Amsterdam. We will then board the Monarch Countess to cruise the Rhine River in Germany visiting Cologne, Koblenz, Mannheim, Strasbourg, and Breisach. A few of us have planned to take the optional excursions of the Marksburg Castle, City of Heidelberg, and Colmar, France. The cruise ends in Basel, Switzerland on July 21.
