Planning for IcelandAnother summer and we're off on another unbelievable adventure. Planning began in our usual way. We threw around several countries to visit, and after a lengthy discussion, the group decided to explore Iceland this year. We researched and compiled a list of places to explore during our visit. Then Linda C. contacted Zicasso for travel agents in the area. Two separate companies gave her two options. After much consideration, the group chose the self-driving tour put together by Magnetic North Travel. Our excitement has been building with each meeting as we reviewed the accommodations and experiences set up by the travel agent.
This adventure will be a 10-day tour that we are looking forward to experiencing. The itinerary includes a walking food tour of Reykjavik, visiting an ice cave, joining a whale-watching expedition, and taking a ride on an amphibious boat tour on the Glacier Lagoon. We will also visit a UNESCO World Heritage site, check out magnificent waterfalls, and be amazed by landscapes and black sand beaches. A trip to Iceland would not be complete without a plunge into one of the thermal spa pools. We are all looking forward to partaking in this experience. I will do my best to post each day as the trip unfolds. The buttons on the page will change color to let you know that a new entry has been posted. We hope you will enjoy following us virtually as we explore all that Iceland has to offer! We are so glad to have Kathleen back with us this year, but we're sorry that Victoria will not be able to join us. |
